Following Romania’s accession to the European Union, requirements regarding the protection of fauna and flora species and the conservation of natural habitats have significantly increased, while national legislation has been aligned with European regulatory frameworks. In this context, we provide continuous impact assessment services for programs, projects, and economic activities that may affect biodiversity conservation status and the integrity of protected natural areas.
Biodiversity conservation is a core area of strategic interest for our company. Our team of more than 80 multidisciplinary experts covers a broad range of specializations in the ecology and biology of flora and fauna species.
As a recognition of our environmental team’s efforts and the expertise gained in the biodiversity field, in July 2016 EPMC became the custodian of two protected areas, signing with the Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forests two custodianship agreements for the Sites of Community Importance ROSCI0236 Valea Ierii and ROSPA0139 Piemontul Munților Metaliferi, together with the 2,519 Măgura Uroiului Nature Reserve and ROSCI0419 Mureșul Mijlociu–Cugir.
